Welcome to 'All About the Waltons'

When I first began this project, it stemmed from the desire to read more about this show that I had fallen in love with, 'again'. Much to my dismay I found that nothing really existed. A few fansites were up on the web but I wanted the official book for the series.

My first thought was to create a dynamic coffee table book but I knew that it needed a multimedia component to fully capture the experience. I then explored building an interactive CD-Rom that would be included with the book. As I began to develop the project I decided to shift the whole presentation to CD-Rom. It appeared much like this website does today. The project was 75% done when a technical issue stopped progress dead in it's tracks. With 2 years of research and production already invested I discovered that a complete rebuild was necessary to complete the project in a satisfactory manner. That was 2002.

In the time since then, the internet has grown to the point that it is capable of delivering the rich media experience that I desired to share. The complete TV series was released on DVD so I no longer had to work from old VHS tapes that I had furiously recorded 5 days a week for 13 months on two different networks in order to acquire each episode. A number of the cast, as well as Earl Hamner himself have published memoirs about their time on the series that did not exist when I first began this project. So after 11 years of collecting dust and about 3000 hours of toil I finally ressurected this love letter to the show in 2013 to share it with the world.

Offered here is a thorough and complete appreciation for this landmark series. You'll find episode synopsis', character sketches, biographies of the stars, credit lists, guest star listings, musical selections, dozen of print articles, merchandise information, behind the scenes info and details about the production plus a look at the show's creator and the REAL story about the Waltons.

Please Enjoy.
