In the latter half of the 1970's and early 1980's, a curious type of paperback was published under the brand name, FOTONOVEL.
These full color paperbacks would capture the action and story of a favorite TV show or movie of the time. Star Trek embraced this format whole heartedly with 12 episodes and 2 movies converted into print format. Other popular titles such as Mork & Mindy, Grease, Rocky, Buck Rogers, Close Encounters, Battlestar Galactica and the like were released under the FOTONOVEL brand or another copycat pulication called The Photo Story.
In a day and age where complete season DVD collections, constant reruns and screencap websites galore, it's quite novel (pun intended) to have these unique, tangible and alternative forms of our favorite shows.
It's unfortunate that The Waltons never got their own FOTONOVEL treatment. So here at All About The Waltons we took it upon ourselves to do just that.
