about the popular 1970's TV Show

The Waltons

In 1972, The Waltons arrived in the homes of America in a time that by all accounts should have spelled failure for a show that exuded family values and wholesomeness. America was reeling from it's involvement in the Vietnam war, scandal in the Whitehouse and civil disobedience. Popular shows at the time were Prime-time talk and variety shows and 'All in the Family' was setting the tone for cutting edge TV. Despite that, 'The Waltons' premiered and quickly built an audience which lasted for 9 seasons, 6 movie specials and a place in our collective consciousness that has lasted for more than 40 years.

Collected here is a treasure trove of materials that details everything you could ever want to know about the show ... and then some. Come back for a second helping anytime, there's always room for another at the Walton's table.

The Hamner House has been purchased by fans of The Waltons!

Earl Hamner's family home that served as the basis for the TV show "The Waltons" has been purchased by long-time Walton fans Carole Johnson, Kirstin DeMaio and Ray Castro. Castro, a producer of the film "Earl Hamner Storyteller" recently organized The 45th Waltons Aniiversary Reunion in March of 2017 in Schuyler, VA as well as the upcoming 20th Anniversary of the Waltons Mountain Museum in October, 2017 with special guest actor Richard Thomas who played the role of John-Boy Walton. The Hamner home will remain open to the public. Small changes will be made such as guided tours as well as new items on display that bridge the gap between the real home and as it was depicted on the TV show.
